Helene Jensen, 94, Valley City, North Dakota, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Wednesday morning, May 24, 2017, at Bethany Homes, Fargo, North Dakota.

She was born in Hasum, Denmark on April 8, 1923 to Chrèsten and Jensine Christensen.  In 1953, she came to the United States of America.  Betty was united in marriage to Henry Jensen of Dazey, North Dakota on October 8, 1953. They farmed in the Dazey area for 25 years before retiring in 1978.  They then moved to Valley City.

Betty was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Valley City and was a past member of the 49ers Homemakers Club.

She is survived by two sons, Paul (Jolenne) Jensen, Mandan, North Dakota and Chris Jensen, Fargo; a daughter, Marcella Jensen, Valley City; and a granddaughter, Lisa Jensine Jensen (Trevor Erickson), Fargo.

Betty was preceded in death by parents; her husband of 40 years, Henry; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Harry & Signe, Alfred & Stinne, Valdemar & Kirsten, Thorkild & Ingeborg, and Johannes & Thea; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Dagny & Aage Granat, and Erna & Aage Wulff.

The funeral for Betty will be held 11 am Friday, May 26, at the Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel, Valley City.  Visitation will be one hour before the service in the chapel.  Burial will be in Memory Gardens, Valley City.
