E. Nordine, 79, Jamestown, ND passed peacefully, surrounded by family Tuesday morning, May 23, at Eventide in Jamestown, ND.

Robert was born June 23, 1937 at Breckenridge, MN, the son of Elmer Nordine and Rena (McLean) Nordine.  He received his elementary education in Breckenridge, MN, and graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1955.

He entered the United States Navy November 15, 1955 at Fargo, ND.  He was discharged September 8, 1957 at San Diego, CA.  Following his discharge he returned to ND and attended ND State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND.  Robert also served in the United States Army Reserve from 1975 until he retired from the USAR in 2004.  Robert served as a member of the 447th Medical Clearing Company.

He and Patricia Sheridan were married September 25, 1965 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Wahpeton, ND.  He worked for the Daily News in the printing department.  He attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks.  He worked for the Grand Forks Herald, Hillsboro Banner and the North Dakota State School for the Blind.  He then worked for the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks until his retirement in 1999.  In 2013 Robert and Patricia moved to Jamestown, ND where their daughter Mary Lenhart is a teacher at Jamestown Middle School.

Robert was a member of the Basilica of St. James, VFW, American Legion, and the Knights of Columbus.

Surviving are his wife Patricia, Jamestown, ND; his children, Kevin (Sherry) Nordine, Florence, SC, Mary (Dwight) Lenhart, Jamestown, ND, Angela Nordine, Jamestown, ND, and James Nordine, Wahpeton, ND; 7 grandchildren, Drakeford (Lucy) Lanier, Reed Johnston, Lane Nordine, and Daniel, Nora, Avereigh, and Anya Lenhart; and brother-in-law, Clarence Schilling, Helena, MT.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, sister Bonni Schilling, and nephew Jason Schilling.

Mass of Christian Burial – 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 30, 2017 in the Basilica of St. James in Jamestown, ND with Father Robert Keller, officiating

Interment – Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown, ND

Visitation – 1:00-7:00 PM Monday, May 29 at Haut Funeral Home, Jamestown

Vigil Service – 7:00 PM Monday at the Funeral Home
