N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Parks and Recreation Department has opened their parks program up for the summer.

The department reports that Meidinger Park, McElroy Park, Nickeus Park and Leapaldt Park will be offering the program beginning Monday, June 5th through the summer. Supervised activities will be held Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM.

The program is for children ages 6 through 12 and will include arts, crafts, games and more. The program is free and parents are responsible for all transportation.

Other Jamestown Parks and Rec happenings include the Summer Track Program. Meets will be held every Wednesday in June starting on the 7th. Each event will start at 5:00 PM at Taylor Stadium on the University of Jamestown campus. Competition will be for age levels 2 years old and up.
