N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Residents of LaMoure County are being informed that county commissioners voted today to issue a Fire Declaration and Burn Restriction.

According to LaMoure County Emergency Manager Kimberly Robbins, open burning will be prohibited when the LaMoure County Fire Danger Rating is High, Very High, or Extreme or if a Red Flag Warning has been issued.

“All open burning needs to be attended and supervised at all times,” Robbins stated. “Review the North Dakota Century Code 33-15-04-02 for more conditions regarding open burning.  Additional information regarding open burning can be found on the LaMoure County website.”

Robbins says if residents have any questions, they can contact her at 701-883-6096 or the their Local Fire Department.

LaMoure County residents will be responsible for making sure they are not violating the burn ordinance. Click here for the current Fire Danger Rating.
