CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Public School District reached an agreement with the Valley City Education Association and the school board officially approved the agreement during a special board meeting on June 6th.

Under the agreement, a change was made with the health and medical insurance plan in the district. The salary base for teachers will increase $200 in the coming school year to $36,000 and increase by another $200 the following year.

School board negotiator Val Moritz said it was a good agreement.
          

Valley City Education Association President Karen Askerooth said changes were made to the health and medical insurance for staff members but base increases were approved.

Superintendent Josh Johnson said it’s nice to have an agreement in place for the next two years.
 

The school board also increased the salaries of school district administrator by two percent across the board this year and another two percent increase for the following year.

Business Manager Linda Heit said the average increase for teachers this coming school year will be 2.54 percent and another 2.09 percent the following school year.
