N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Geocaching, a recreational activity of hunting and finding hidden objects by means of GPS, has become a lifetime hobby for some.

On Saturday, June 24th, people from all over will be invited to attend a Camping & Caching event in Jamestown. Frank Balak is a member of the North Dakota Geocaching Association.

Balak reports that in a 10 mile radius of Jamestown alone, there are roughly 90 geocaches. In a 50 mile radius, there are roughly 240.

The Saturday event will feature several new geocached locations for participants, which when found, will give a code to unlock certain prizes from the area. Balak says this is the first time they’ve held the event in Jamestown and so far, they have about 60 people from different states who plan on coming to attend the event.

The event starts at 9 AM at Klaus Park in Jamestown and runs until 7:30 PM. It will be free and open to anyone who wants to participate.
