(NewsDakota.com) The LaMoure Post 19 American Legion baseball team improved to 5-1 in Class B Southeast Region play after a 4-2 victory over Oakes Post 36 Monday night at Townsend Field.

Oakes (3-6) started off well, leading 2-0 after an inning and a half, but Post 19 then scored a run each in the second, third, fourth and fifth innings to sweep the regular season series.

Jacob Ulmer earned the win, going all seven innings, allowing one earned run on five hits with nine strikeouts. Ulmer scored two runs for LaMoure, and registered a double. Adam Neustel took the loss for Oakes, lasting three innings and surrendering three runs on two hits with one strikeout.  Grayson Roney had two singles in the loss.

LaMoure plays a doubleheader Tuesday against Wapheton at home, while Oakes heads to Endelrin Thursday. Coverage of Oakes/Enderlin on KDDR-AM 1220/95.9 FM starts at 5:50 p.m., with first pitch at 6 p.m.
