CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- Valley City Post 60 played host to Casselton Thursday night and failed to pick up a win in the 2 games.  Casselton was on the winning end by scores of 6-2 and 4-3.

Game 1: Casselton 6 Post 60 2

It was the same story it has been all year in this game. VC got behind early and couldn’t put together any run to work their way out of it.  Casselton would score 3 in the first and 1 in the second inning before Post 60 would be able to push a run across in the bottom of the 1st. 2 more runs for Casselton in the 3rd would give them a 6-1 lead.  VC would only manage to pick up 1 run in the remainder of the game to finish game down 6-2.

Rylee Bjork got the start on the mound.  He worked 5 innings giving up 6 runs on 8 hits while walking 3 and striking out 5 for the loss.  Stephan Brooks would work a scorless 2 innings in relief.  At the plate Dalton Ondracek lead the charge for VC picking up 3 hits in the contest.

Game 2: Casselton 4 Post 60 3

Post 60 was able to change course this game and get out early to a lead.  VC would score 2 runs in the bottom of the 1st and held that 2-0 lead till the 3rd.  Casselton would manage to pick up 3 runs in the top of the 3rd to take the lead.  A run in the bottom of the 4th for Post 60 would tie it up at 3 heading to the 5th.  Casselton would manage to collect that run while Post 60 wouldn’t answer back and that is how the game came to an end 4-3 with Casselton with the win.

Post 60 is back in action Friday night as they host the West Fargo Aces, starting at 5:30.
