JAMESTOWN, N.D. (Farm & Ranch Guide) - Word was recently received that Central Sales, Inc. in Jamestown and Casselton was awarded AGCO’s Dealership Excellence Program award for 2016. This award was made to nine dealerships across the nation with Five-Star status, the highest level of achievement.

This elite honor is given to dealers who have gone above and beyond to improve performance in operations, sales, marketing, parts and service – all with the goal to improve customer experience and dealer financial health while strengthening their relationship with AGCO.

Central Sales was one of two dealers in the Midwest region to receive this award, according to owner and general manager Jeff Romsdal. This area stretches from the northern parts of Manitoba to the southern tip of the U.S.

“There were 20 categories that had to be met,” Romsdal said, “and we achieved every one of them. It was really a three-year commitment that we made to make this achievement and it took a lot of focus in all of those areas.

“There are a lot of areas that you must target and achieve in order to become a Five-Star Dealer and every one of those categories has some pretty expectations.”

Romsdal noted the program is heavily weighted on training and especially service training. This training is accomplished on many fronts, including web-based Internet training and actual classroom time at the center for technicians at AGCO’s locations in either Jackson, Minn., or Hesston, Kan.

In a letter to Romsdal announcing the award, AGCO company officials said, “We have noticed the many efforts that you have made to improve your dealership in the recent past. Your Jamestown store stands out as one of the very best branded facilities in our network. We also applaud your focused and disciplined approach to developing, executing and monitoring plans to achieve excellence. Between participation in a Spader 20 group, the monitoring of net promoter scores and a strong commitment to training and developing employees, to name a few, it’s evident that Central Sales is dedicated to continuous improvement in every aspect of its operation.

“Jeff, to you and the entire Central Sales Team we say “Job well done!” Here’s to another Five Star performance in 2017.”

Central Sales is a small, family operation and Romsdal said it involves a great deal of concentration and effort to win an award such as this.

“All of the people in our operation were a part of achieving the award,” he said. “We all had to dig in and take part.”
