(NewsDakota.com)- The Oakes Post 36 Legion baseball team carried over the offensive spark from their 20-13 win Friday night as they beat LaMoure 11-3 to earn one of The Southeast Region’s bid to The 2017 State Tournament. Oakes will now face unbeaten Enderlin in the tournament championship game.

Oakes struck early when Adam Neustal hit a solo home run to right center. Post 36 added another run in the 1st and run in the 2nd and 3rd before breaking the game open in the 4th. With the bases loaded Trey Juran sent a ball to the outfield that carried over the ivy in center for a grand slam. Oakes tagged on more in the frame and went up 9-1.

LaMoure scored in the 4th after back to back doubles with Jacob Ulmer knocking in Cade Gentzkow. Gentzkow brought home a pair with a double in the 5th.

Tyler Voightman was the winning pitcher throwing all 7 innings. He allowed 6 hits with 3Ks. Mac Bierman took the loss for LaMoure, he was chases out after 3 1/3 innings. He was tagged for 8 runs. Alex Klever and Shay Ness came in relief for Post 19.

Juran finished with a game high 5 RBI. Neustal was 3 for 4 and Michael Kelly 2 for 2 with an RBI. Gentzkow had 2 doubles and 2 RBI for LaMoure.
