CENTRE, MN (NewsDakota.com) – Mike Spaude, volunteer and advocate for American military veterans, set out to travel over 10,000 miles to raise money for veterans in need.

Eagle’s Healing Nest in Sauk Centre, Minnesota serves around 70 veterans through private donations and volunteer help. According to Jane Spaude, the program has set up inside a long-abandoned building that is in need of dire renovations.

Because of its volunteer status, the costs seemed substantial. So, 66 year-old Mike Spaude took a year to plan a 10,600 mile, 18-day and 48 state ride across America to raise money for the much needed repairs.

Mike’s final day of the ride will bring him to Jamestown on July 27th. He will be stopping at the Stutsman Harley Davidson shop at around 4 PM. Jane pointed out that individuals can feel free to stop by around that time to offer encouragement or donations if they would like.

Other stops Mike will be making includes Bend, OR, Kennewick, WA, Missoula, MT, Casper WY and Pierre, SD.
