N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Finance & Legal Committee discussed the 2018 JSDC budget among other things Tuesday evening.

JSDC CEO Connie Ova brought forth the 2018 budget for the Jamestown Stutsman Development Corporation.

After discussion, the budget was approved unanimously.

The City Code for Temporary Alcohol Permits was later brought up by Mayor KAtie Andersen. She said the council should consider amending it to make sure it is being fully utilized in the correct capacity.

The council approved the city’s legal team to research that and return with a recommendation for future amendments to the City Code.

Later discussion was held concerning a license agreement with Arvig Enterprises, Inc. regarding the placement of 10,634 feet of conduit and fiber optic cable within the City. Mayor Andersen reported that Arvig was a subcontractor for Centurylink, who has yet to re-enter a franchise agreement with the city. The mayor recommended they look into reestablishing the franchise agreement with Centurylink before they approve the project. The motion was approved contingent on that agreement being renewed.
