N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A Jamestown man was injured after a tire popped on his semi Tuesday afternoon.

Thomas Oxtoby, 79, was traveling northbound on Highway 281 with a trailer loaded with corn. At around 3:21 PM, the front right tire popped and part of the tread came off the semi, causing the semi to enter the east ditch and overturn onto the driver’s side. The truck and trailer came to rest in a parking lot roughly 5 miles South of Jamestown.

Oxtoby was transported by ambulance to Jamestown for treatment of minor injuries. The semi was totaled in the accident. The crash remains under investigation. The Stutsman County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the incident.
