N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Farm Rescue is continuing to provide assistance to farmers and ranchers in need.

The organization has announced that North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum’s drought disaster declaration has sparked a movement called “Operation Hay Lift.”

“Farm Rescue is sending trucks out to haul hay free of charge for ranchers in crisis,” the organization reports. “Nearly 130 ranchers have already contacted us for help.”

Farm Rescue is still looking for volunteers to help haul hay for those in need. Over the last week, Angels in Blue Keith Barkema, Jerry Christians, Jerry TerWee and Glen Haekenkamp hauled loads to New Salem, Richardton, Washburn and Zap areas in ND.

“We wholeheartedly thank you for making Operation Hay Lift possible with your annual gifts that have a positive impact throughout the communities which Farm Rescue serves,” stated Bill Gross, Founder and President of Farm Rescue.

Weekly highlights are being put together by Farm Rescue to share stories and give credit to those assisting in Operation Hay Lift. Visit farmrescue.org or call 701-252-2017 for more information.
