CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Members of the Valley City Fire Department and Barnes County Ambulance conducted a practice exercise on August 10th in Valley City.

Smoke started to roll out of a building just north of Marketplace Foods and firefighters responded to the scene.

Ambulance crews treated two mock victims, one on the roof and another near the back door of a business.

Fire Chief Gary Retterath said this was just a training exercise, but its beneficial to everyone. He said the department holds several training exercises every year.
