N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown Regional Medical Center is the first hospital in North Dakota to install a GE Revolution CT Scanner – a high performing, low-dose CT Scanner.

According to the JRMC, this scanner is the most advanced CT Scanner in the state of North Dakota.

JRMC’s system offers low radiation doses, short exam times, high resolution, and quiet ambient noise during the exam. Its former scanner offered 64-slice images. The new system offers 128-slice images.

“There’s dozens of reasons to choose JRMC, and one of them is our state-of-the-art CT Scanner. We’re proud that it’s the only one like it in the state. We’re also proud of all of JRMC’s technological firsts, including our 3D Mamography and hyperbaric oxygen chamber,” said K.C. DeBoer, JRMC President & CEO. “We’re proud of our people. A building alone is bricks and mortar. It’s our employees who are THE difference for our patients.”

A computed tomography (CT) Scan uses X-rays to make detailed pictures of parts of the body and the structures inside it. The images a CT Scan produces are more detailed than a conventional X-ray. CT Scans can reveal internal injuries and bleeding.

An open house to view the new CT Scanner and meet the radiology team is set for 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30 at JRMCAttendees can view the scanner and the radiology department. JRMC Clinic tours are also available.

Attendees can also meet with provider teams including: Dr. Madhusudan Reddy, radiologist; Dr. W. Thomas Coombe, Ear, Nose & Throat physician; Dr. Bailey Runkles, gynecologist & obstetrician; Drs. Michael Dean and Timothy Volk, orthopedic surgeons; Dr. Rachael Renschler, podiatrist/foot & ankle surgeon; Dr. Robert Bates, urologist; and Amanda Lausch, FNP and Randy Perkins, FNP, of the JRMC Wound Center.
