N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Public Schools are preparing to receive incoming students this week.

The Jamestown Public School Board has continued to work on enrollment projections for the future. According to the schools, K-12 student enrollment was 2,203 in 2016-17. Superintendent Robert Lech reports that total enrollment is slightly down this year

“Our most recent numbers are 2,115,” Lech said. “Elementary in all buildings K through 5 is 923, Middle School grades 6 through 8 is 550, and High School grades 9 through 12 is 642.”

In recent studies, the schools expect enrollment to increase roughly 2 percent by 2021.
