N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Carrington City Council took steps necessary to build a new housing development within the community.

Carrington Mayor Neil Fandrich joined Greg Grenz on KDAK AM 1600’s What’s Happening program to discuss the latest city work being done. One of the items discussed by the council was approval of vacating a city street to be turned into a housing development.

Fandrich says its a cul-de-sac area and will be turned into a housing development starting next summer.

Mayor Fandrich later pointed out that city resident’s would see a tax increase coming up to help with costs of a planned water main replacement for an estimated 32 blocks within Carrington.

Mayor Fandrich later reported on the Carrington Fire Department.

He reports that they did receive their new structure gear and residents may have seen the gear at the National Night Out.

Fandrich later reported that the rejuvenation project at the Carrington Airport has been completed. He was also made aware by Foster County Emergency Manager Jess Earle that an emergency siren was malfunctioning.
