JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Council on the Arts (NDCA) has announced several new additions to their board of directors.

Onesti Krieger of Williston and Searle Swedlund of Jamestown have been appointed by Governor Doug Burgum to serve on the NDCA’s board. David “White Thunder” Trottier has been re-appointed as board chair by the Governor.

“NDCA would like to welcome Onestie and Searle and give a sincere thank you to our departing members, Dr. Lana Schlect and Shannon Fox, for their time and efforts displayed during their appointed term,” a release states.

Swedlund is the Executive Director of Jamestown Tourism. He works with a variety of community agencies to market the community and grow the ways visitors interact with the region. he is married to Emmy Swedlund and together they have a rescue dog, Freki.

“Having worked closely with the Jamestown Arts Center, I have witness how the arts cultivate creative thought processes and build community,” he stated. “I look forward to working with the North Dakota Council on the Arts to promote, preserve and perpetuate the arts in North Dakota.”

Searle will serve the counties of Wells, Foster, Stutsman, Logan, McIntosh, LaMoure, Dickey, Griggs, and Barnes.
