CITY, ND (NewsDakota.com)- It was the 2nd home meet of the season for The Valley City Cross County team Tuesday at The Country Club. In varsity girls’ race VCHS earned a 2nd place finish behind Hatton/Northwood/Thompson, the boys were 4th with HNT also claiming 1st place. Next up for The Hi-Liners is a race in Casselton Tuesday.

Avery Murray and Courtney Lloyd were again the top finishers for the girls, Murray grabbed a 3rd place finish with Lloyd finishing 6th. Carly Goven took 10th. Sophia Boe was 14th, Eliza Schueneman 16th, Lexi Triebold 20th and Olivia Slyter 21st.

On the boys’ side Adam Punton was 6th and Dakota Tahran 10th. Jack Jordan added a 24th place finish with Ethan Jenner 31st.

The girls’ JV was the 3K winner, The Hi-Liners placed 7 of the top 11 runners. Sydnee Ingstad was 1st, Stephanie Hoffarth 2nd, Amelia Meester 4th, Morgan Jenner 5th, Haylee Bjork 8th and Molly Dockter 10th. Finishing 11th was Heather Fischer with Sheyenne Gwilliams 18th.

Buddy Scherr was runner up in the boys’ 3K. As a team Valley City was 2nd. Robert Fischer was 10th, Keegan Couture 11th, Sam Borg 13th, Owen Plagen 14th, Daniel Wintch 17th and Luke Plagens 19th.
