VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Barnes County Sheriff Randy McClaflin is concerned that the County and State Radio aren’t on the same wave length responding to calls for service. He said it happens occasionally when his units are responding to another call 40 miles away.

Barnes County Emergency Manager Sue Lloyd said there are times when it’s hard to find someone to respond immediately.

Barnes County Commission president Mike Metcalf said we need to work together to resolve this issue.

Sheriff McClaflin said he wants to make sure that everyone is hearing the calls especially if his deputies are out of position.

Commissioner Metcalf had this response.

Highway Patrol Captain Bryan Niewind talked about State Radio procedure.

The issue was discussed during the Barnes County Commission meeting on September 19.

Below is full discussion of the issue during the Barnes County Commission meeting.
