N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A project that has been around since 1926 following World War I, the Forget Me Not flower sales have helped area veterans for years.

The Forget Me Not sales will be happening in Jamestown courtesy of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 31 and their Auxiliary. Members will be selling the little blue flowers Friday and Saturday in Jamestown at Hugo’s Family Marketplace and Cashwise Foods between 10 AM and 4 PM.

“All funds collected will stay in North Dakota,” stated Rod Olin, DAV Adjutant for North Dakota. “[They] are used to provide assistance to ill or injured Veterans, support the Veteran’s Home in Lisbon, Volunteer Services at the VA in Fargo, VA Clinic in Jamestown, and the All Vets Club in Jamestown.”

The funds will also benefit the DAV Transportation System, which provides free transportation for Veterans who have medical appointments. Olin reports that there are currently 5,000 DAV members in North Dakota and 1.2 million in the USA.
