GRAND FORKS, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Heavy rainfall hit the region on September 19 as a series of thunderstorms rolled through the area.

National Weather Service forecaster John Hoppes said rain fall amounts varied from on inch to more than six inches in some areas of southeastern North Dakota.

6.6 inches was reported in Wolski Plaza near Valley City, 4 inches in downtown Valley City, with 4.5 reported near the W.E. Osmon Fieldhouse in Valley City and 3.9 inches at the Valley City Town and Country Club. Sundstroms Landing reported 2.3 inches of rain.
