JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Two Burlington Northern Santa Fe trains and four rail cars came off the rails west of Jamestown Wednesday morning.

Amy McBeth, Director of Public Affairs for North Dakota, reports that the train and cars came off the rails earlier this morning near Gavilon Grain roughly 5 miles west of Jamestown.

Crews on scene were unable to comment. McBeth says a timetable of the train and cars returning to the track is not known, but as of 2:45 PM Wednesday, they remained off the rails. McBeth says the incident happened on industry track, keeping their main lines open.

McBeth reports that the cause is unknown and will remain under investigation. She says there were no injuries and none of the cars were compromised.

More will be posted as the investigation continues.
