funeral service for Margaret “Peggy” Jacobson, 93, Valley City, North Dakota will be 2 pm Monday, September 25, 2017 at Epworth United Methodist Church, Valley City. Visitation will be 5-7 pm Sunday at the church with a prayer service at 7 pm. Visitation will continue one hour before the service in the church. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Valley City.

Margaret Mary Kaspari was born on July 20, 1924 in Anselm, North Dakota, the daughter of Martin and Margaret (Hickey) Kaspari. She grew up on the farm near Sheldon, North Dakota before moving to Valley City where she attended College High and graduated in 1940. Peggy was united in marriage to Omund Jacobson on July 19, 1942 in Los Angeles, California where Omund was stationed at the time. They moved to Biloxi, Mississippi for a time before making their home in Valley City.

Peggy loved doing craft work especially embroidery, crochet, sewing and she also did cross stitching and quilting. She also enjoyed baking and made many loaves of bread and lots of delicious buns. Family was important to Peggy and her family will miss her dearly.

She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church.

Peggy is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Kay Jacobson, Bozeman, Montana and Mark and Claudia Jacobson, Jamestown, North Dakota. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Troy & Tami Balzer, Chad & Patty Jacobson, Josh Jacobson, Cody Jacobson, and Katie Jacobson; great-grandchildren, Justin Balzer, Jesse Balzer and Julie & Chris Korkowski and Tayler Jacobson; and great-great-grandchildren, Elliot Louise Korkowski and Baby Korkowski; a sister, Susan (Tom) Snider, South Dakota; and a cousin, Connie Stiekerneier, Sheldon, North Dakota.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Katherine, and four sisters. Peggy died Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at the Sheyenne Care Center.
