Mae Williams, 87, of Jamestown, ND, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Eventide, Jamestown.

Violet Mae Wegner was born November 29, 1929, in Cusator Township, Stutsman County, ND, the daughter of Gottfried and Bertha (Suko) Wegner, Jr. She attended Cusator Township school and helped with chores on the family farm. Through her involvement in 4-H, she met and was united in marriage to Ernest R. “Bob” Williams on October 19, 1947 at the Alfred Congregational Church, Alfred, ND. They made their home on a farm south of Cleveland, ND where they milked cows, raised Shorthorn cattle, and small grains. They moved to Cleveland in 1986 and were caretakers with Alpha Opportunities. She was an excellent cook and baker. Mae was known for her kuchen at the Prairie Oasis in Cleveland, and for being the last to sit at the table when hosting a meal. She had a green thumb, enjoying gardening and canning and also enjoyed animals.

Mae was a 4-H Leader in her early years. She was also an active member of the Cleveland United Methodist Church and Homemakers Club.

Mae is survived by son, Ernie E. Williams, Jamestown; daughter, Patricia (Dean) Jensen, Jamestown; daughter, Connie (Russ) Henne, Oakes, ND; son, Timothy Williams, Jamestown; daughter, Joyce (Greg) Anderson, Yankton, SD; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Elroy (Edress) Wegner, Mesa, AZ and Clifford (Stella) Wegner, Surprise, AZ; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest R. Williams; grandson, Jamar Dillard; daughter-in-law, Mona Williams; brothers, Melvin (Agnes) Wegner and David Wegner; and sister, Lorene (Ronald) Wanzek.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Joel Winckler officiating.

Visitation: None Scheduled.

Interment: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.
