N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Stutsman County Commission held their regular meeting at the Stutsman County Courthouse Tuesday afternoon.

The commission heard from Stutsman County Emergency Manager Jerry Bergquist on the latest CenturyLink cable cut, were introduced to the new Deputy Recorder Maureen Findlay and had the latest budget hearing. Courthouse Maintenance Supervisor Jim Fettig came before the commission to discuss the replacement of the front courthouse door.

Fettig informed the commission that he had budgeted for the project. He says in the project, he’ll have them replace the two front doors and reuse the automatic door opener. He says the doors will be black aluminum instead of wooden doors.

The company would come down and install the doors. The commission unanimously approved.

Later, Stutsman County State’s Attorney Fritz Fremgen gave his monthly report to the council. He informed the commission that his office was seeing a high volume of cases come through this year.

Fremgen pointed out that the county was seeing a lot of methamphetamine cases.

The State’s Attorney Office will continue to address the ongoing cases that continue to come in.
