N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Carrington School Board took some time recently to talk about the potential for new programs in the district.

Superintendent Dr. Brian Duchscherer reports that the board had some considerable discussions about some new programs that could possibly come to fruition on the district. One of those would be starting an in-house preschool.

Duchscherer also said some discussion of a girls Spring softball program took place. He says more schools in B school districts are bringing in that program. Although discussion took place, Duchscherer says there is no guarantee that these are happening any time soon. More discussion may take place at their November board meeting.

Duchscherer says if the in-house preschool was approved, it would be moved into the brand new elementary school.

Because it is all preliminary, much more discussion will need to be held with all involved. The board also looked at the latest construction of the new Carrington Elementary School.

Duchscherer says work will continue on the school with minor things needing to be completed before it’s finished entirely. He says they hope to have the building entirely enclosed by Thanksgiving and will continue inside over the winter.
