N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – One man was injured after his tractor was struck by a semi east of Litchville Friday.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports that Leland Adamson, 49, of Sidney, NE was traveling westbound on Highway 46 Friday morning at around 8:22 AM. Derek Jungels, 40, of Kathryn was also traveling westbound in a tractor. The driver of the semi began to pass the driver of the tractor as the tractor attempted to turn south onto 116th Avenue SE.

The semi struck the tractor in the intersection near mm 64.5. Jungels was transported by personal vehicle to the hospital for a cut above his nose. Adamson was not injured, but was charged with passing within 100 feet.

The highway was blocked for a short period of time until the tractor was removed. It was totaled in the accident. The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol. The Barnes County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the incident.
