Charles Wayne Komrosky was born April 20, 1927, the son of Ed and Amelia (Krege) Komrosky at home in Aberdeen, SD. He married Charlotte C. Blumler on October 22, 1945, at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church parsonage in Valley City. They raised eight children together and farmed for 46 years. In 1991 the family farm was sold and Wayne built their cabin overlooking Hobart Lake (which was his lifelong dream) where together with his wife they enjoyed nature and the view of the lake. They moved to the Rainbow Bridge apartments in 2007 where they enjoyed visiting with neighbors.

Wayne enjoyed nature, planting trees, bird watching, and his beloved pet “Foxy”. He read his Bible faithfully each night and was always ready to share scripture with each of his children, grandchildren, and friends. He was a good neighbor and respected in the community. He believed in soil conservation and received the Barnes County Soil Conservation Achievement Award in 1969. In 1977, he received the ND Conservation Achievement Program. Then in 1994, he received the ND Centennial Tree Farmer Program Achievement. He took great pride in receiving the Outstanding Living Snow Fence Award in 2005 as well.

Wayne is survived by seven children: Cheryl (Lyle) Grindahl, Rose (LeRoy) Blecher, Jerome (Darlene) Komrosky, Joel (Pat) Komrosky, Janelle (Mike) Kjelland, Julie (Michael) Lynch, and Lori (Steve) Berg; 145 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Dave (Ilene) Komrosky and Jim Komrosky; a sister, Phyllis Matthews; and a sister-in-law, Hilma Komrosky.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Charlotte Komrosky; parents, Ed and Amelia Komrosky; his first born son, Jon; 2 brothers, Eugene Komrosky and Daryl Komrosky; and a sister, Halcie Komrosky.
