JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – After falling a win short of the District title each of the last two years, the Medina-Pingree/Buchanan volleyball team finally broke through defeating Napoleon/GS in straight sets 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-16) in the championship.

Halle Uehran lead the way with 25 kills and was unsurprisingly named District 6 senior athlete of the year.

The Region III tournament beings on Monday in Hazelton and the two favorites will be the Thunder and the two-time defending state champion Lamoure/LM Loboes. The two teams played last week and MPB won a five-setter. With MPB’s win last night, a championship rematch is now in the cards.

Linton/HMB and South Border claimed the region qualifiers last night in four sets each to move on to Region III.

The tournament begins on Monday and will be carried in its entirety on TED asfkb|var|u0026u|referrer|hsras||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
