VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Clorissa Nelson of Valley City placed 2nd in a national poster contest that centered on why voting is important in the U.S.A.

Earlier this year, Nelson captured 1st place at the state level competition in North Dakota and then was awarded 2nd place at the national level for 5th graders during the Americanism poster contest for the AMVETS.

Clorissa Nelson was presented a certificate of achievement and a $125 gift card for placing 2nd in the National contest during a gathering at the VFW Club in Valley City on November 7.
