FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- Valley City battled through 5 sets with Mandan Saturday at The Fargodome but came up just short in the state tournament 3rd place match. The Hi-Liners fell 23-25, 25-22, 25-20, 23-25,13-15.

Three from Valley City surpassed 20 digs. Kacee White recorded a team high 43, Reagan Ingstad had 30 and Macy Olstad 23. Cali Halgrimson and Lexi Ondracek were also in double figures with 17 and 16 respectively.

On offense three had double figure kills. Olstad paced the team with 23, Mackenzie Pederson added 13 and Halgrimson 12. Pederson put up a team high 4 blocks. Ingstad recorded 55 assist. The team combined for 6 aces led by Ondracek’s 3.

Coach Jill Taylor says even though the outcome wasn’t what she had hope there is still plenty of thing the team can be proud of

 

The 4th place finish closes out an impressive season for The Hi-Liners. Along with qualifying for state Valley City also finished 2nd in The EDC which is the school’s highest finish and also made it to the conference tournament title match, another first. Individually three players, Kacee White, Reagan Ingstad and Cali Halgrimson, were all conference and  Jill Taylor was named EDC Coach of the Year.

The Hi-Liners final record was 22-13.
