N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The LaMoure/LM volleyball team was trying to make history on Saturday night at the Fargodome, trying to become the first team to win three consecutive state titles. They got it done, just hours before Century joined them with their third straight, winning 3-0 (25-10, 25-12, 25-14) over Thompson.

Anna Holen and Jackie Mieklejohn were playing in their fourth state championship match in five years of varsity volleyball and they certainly looked the team that had been there before. They came out and took care of business never giving Thompson much hope.

Holen lead the Loboes with 15 kills. Ellie Holen had three service aces in the second set that sparked a 9-0 run and buried Thompson. Mieklejohn dished out 31 assists.

The Loboes finished the season at 44-1 and Anna Holen was named Class B senior athlete of the year.
