N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Public Schools had a company out of Bismarck come and conduct an audit on the technology within the schools recently.

The company Connecting Point spent a few days within the school buildings and with technology staff to assess the current technology setup in the school system. Technology Director Mike Armitage reports that they received good reports overall.

Armitage says their connectivity ranks in the top 20% in the state. It was found in the report that there are currently 2,976 computers connected to the school district’s network at the time of the audit. Armitage says out of the recommendations made, most of them he was already aware of.

Board member Diane Hanson brought up the recommendation of additional cameras being added at the high school. Armitage says they purchased 15 additional cameras, with new cameras in the parking lot.

Superintendent Rob Lech says the main thing the board could take away from the report is that the school’s wireless system, compared to other North Dakota systems, is top notch.

Lech says they’ll continue to upgrade equipment as needed. The meeting was broadcasted by Jamestown Video.
