N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The City of Jamestown has moved to approve the hiring of Chris Schilken as the new City Administrator.

During a special meeting Tuesday, the council made the unanimous recommendation to hire Schilken following the interview process. Jamestown Mayor Katie Andersen.

Councilman Dan Buchanan moved to hire on Schilken.

Councilwoman Pam Phillips stated that she believed he would be a good fit for the city. Mayor Andersen said it appeared that all those involved in the hiring process felt the same way.

Pending Schilken’s decision to take the position, he will take over the administrator position by the beginning of 2018. Schilken has served as the Economic Developer of Devils Lake and more recently as the Loan Manager for Prairie Federal Credit Union in Minot.
