N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The City of Jamestown held several committee meetings ahead of Thanksgiving Tuesday evening.

During the Finance & Legal committee meeting, JSDC Executive Director Connie Ova informed the committee that they were requesting around $47,000 from the Economic Development Fund to contract with AE2S for the development of a Strategic Communications/Workforce Marketing Program with the City Share to be $37,000.

Ova says a plan will then be made with other stakeholders in the community to help create a spot on a website on what Jamestown has to offer. Councilman Dan Buchanan says the program sounds worthwhile, but was approached by a constituent regarding the idea.

Councilwoman Pam Phillips stated that she would like to see a wider scope of individuals get involved with the plan.

Ova stated she would share that information with the group. The plan was approved.

Later discussion was held considering the request from i3G Media to place a translator on a city water tower. Discussion had developed since the request was first made into all connections on all city water towers. Interstate Engineering Engineer Travis Dillman shared concerns with adding more equipment to the water tower in the event of future maintenance.

i3G Media General Manager Tanea Clocksene informed the council that she didn’t think it was fair this discussion for all antennas on water towers were using the radio station as an example.

Mayor Katie Andersen stated that it wasn’t their intentions to do so and made a suggestion to approve the radio stations request, but maintain conversation moving forward regarding equipment on the water towers.

The request was unanimously approved.
