N.D. (NewsDakota.com)—–The Carrington girls basketball team started 2017-18 season off a bit sluggish and trailed Velva 26-22 at halftime. The Cardinals came out firing in the second half and outscored the Aggies 49-24 and won the game going away 71-50.

McKenzie Johnson scored a game high 19 points to pace the Cardinal scoring attack and Kadyn Mehring added 17 points (all in the second half). Jill Endres added 12 points for the Cards. Hope Brewer led the Aggies with 15 points and Greta Florence added 12 points. Carrington starts the year 1-0 and Velva falls to 0-1.
