N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jon Hegerle’s volleyball teams continue to take incremental steps on the national stage and they did so again today. With a win over Texas Wesleyan 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-15) in the final pool play match, the the Jimmies advanced to the single elimination tournament which begins Friday in Sioux City.

Each pool sends two teams to the ‘Round of 16″ which is a single elimination tournament that, over two days, will decide a national champion. Jamestown finished second in Pool A with wins over Cornerstone and Texas Wesleyan. The top-overall seed Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) won the pool.

The Jimmies’ opponent for Friday is yet to be determined. They will play the top-seed from Pool B, which is likely to be conference rival Viterbo.  The match will be played at 1:30pm with the national quarterfinal games played in the evening should they advance.
