VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A ten person delegation from Belarus visited the North Star Classic Cattle Show in Valley City and dairy farms in Lisbon and Carrington to learn more about animal agriculture in North Dakota.

Former NDSU Extension Director Duane Hauck is now the president of Mid-America Consultants International. He led the delegation on a week long tour last week. He said the group is interested in improving their dairy and beef genetics and learning more about winter management of beef and dairy herds.

The delegation toured the NDSU cow-calf research unit, feedlot research complex, Northern Crops Institute, dairy research unit and meats lab on the campus in Fargo.

They then visited the Dean & Paula Swenson and Josh Alsager cow-calf ranches near Walcott, ND before touring the Alan & Julie Qual dairy farm near Lisbon and toured the Cass-Clay Creamery in Fargo.

Then they drove up to Carrington to visit the Van Bedaf dairy farm and the NDSU beef cattle reseach extension unit north of Carrington before heading south to tour the Brian Amundson cow-calf feedlot near Jamestown.
