N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (ND SHAPE) has named University of Jamestown Assistant Professor Chris Mahoney their University/College Professor of the Year.

According to the organization, the Physical Education Professor Award provides recognition to individuals who have demonstrated continuous dedication to the advocacy and enhancement of student learning in physical education at the collegiate level.

“These nominees, by outstanding teacher performance and style, have personified the concept that the effort made to enrich the goals and objectives of physical education is a labor of love, inspired by commitment and dedication,” they report.

ND Shape was established in 1928 with Fred Spalding of Valley City as the first president. They are made up of public and private school teachers, collegiate professors, and health professionals that believe in the importance of active living.
