(NewsDakota.com) After a shaky start to the season last week on the road, the Oakes High girls basketball team dominated on their home floor, sailing past Wyndmere-Lidgerwood 69-29 Tuesday night.

The Tornadoes (1-1) were up by 12 after the first quarter, and put up 46 in the first half alone. Oakes had three players in double figures, lead by Lynsey Schmitz with 19. Sadie Hansen put in 17 and Ceclilia Hoelscher added another 10.

The Warbirds (1-1), who reached Oakes’ first quarter total of points at the end of the third quarter, were lead in scoring by Emily Baldwin with 12 points.

Oakes heads to Forman on Monday, December 11 to battle Sargent Central at a time to be determined. Coverage will start 15 minutes before tip on KDDR-AM 1220/95.9 FM and NewsDakota.com.
