CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – 25 year-old Jessie Christopher Fetzer of Valley City was sentenced to 5 years in the state penitentiary following a recent court appearance in Barnes County.

Fetzer entered guilty pleas for a felon in possession of a firearm, felony burglary and theft and a misdemeanor charge of drug possession.

According to Barnes County Sheriff’s office, Fetzer was one of the two suspects charged in a rural Barnes County farmstead burglary reported on August 28, 2017.

Barnes County Chief Deputy Don Fiebiger said several stolen items from this burglary have been returned to the owners.

Fetzer was sentenced to 5 years at the North Dakota Department of Corrections with credit for 100 days already served.

According to the Barnes County State’s Attorney office, Fetzer pleaded guilt to Count 1: Prohibited/Possess Firearm-C Felony; Count 2: Burglary at Night-B Felony; Count 3: Theft-Take-Exceeds $1,000-10,000-C Felony; Count 4: Theft-Take-Firearm-Ammunition-Explosive/destructive device-C Felony; Count 8: Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia-Use-SI, SII, SIII-A Misdemeanor.
