Stella Mueller, age 98, of Valley City, ND, died Saturday, December 9th at Mercy Hospital in Valley City. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 15th at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Valley City. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church and one hour before the service on Friday morning. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday evening at the church. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Dazey, ND.

Stella was born at Courtney, North Dakota on June 22, 1919 to Earl and Mildred Wright.  She was the oldest with five brothers. Stella graduated from Dover Consolidated School in 1937.  She attended college in Valley City then began teaching at various Schools. Stella married Joseph Mueller on November 11, 1943 at Wimbledon, North Dakota. They lived on a farm at Dazey where they raised 5 children. Stella was a cook at North Central School near Rogers and substituted at various schools.  She was an active member of St. Mary’s Church at Dazey and was even in a play there.  Stella was township clerk and assessor.  After moving to Valley City in 1984 she volunteered for Mercy Hospital Auxiliary and an active member of St Catherine’s Church. Joe passed away in 1983.  Stella was well loved by all who knew her, she had a kind and generous soul and will be greatly missed.

Stella is survived by children Phillip (Darlene) Mueller, Jennifer Mueller, Joann (Thomas) Jewett, and Greg (Vicki) Mueller, brother Donald Wright, thirteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Stella was preceded in death by husband Joe, son John, her parents, four brothers and one sister.
