N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The new Carrington Elementary School will not be including the preschool once its complete.

Carrington School Superintendent Brian Duchscherer reports that after discussions between the Carrington School Board and the Carrington Preschool Board, it was decided that it wasn’t a good time to start a preschool in the Elementary school.

Duchscherer pointed out that the community would still have a preschool program, it just wouldn’t be located inside the newly constructed Elementary school at this time.

The Carrington School Board also recently discussed the latest ACT test scores at their regular December meeting. He says this year’s seniors tested very well in their testing.

Duchscherer says they also looked at the ACT scores in the district from the past 8 years. He says there have only be a few Class B school districts that have scored a composite score of 20 or higher in 8 consecutive years with Carrington being one of those districts.

As far as school construction goes, Duchscherer says a lot of the work is going on inside.

Duchscherer says right now, they’ll continue to pour concrete and work on more things inside the gymnasium and school. He says the are close to being on schedule for wrapping up school construction in 2018.
