VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- West Fargo Sheyenne combined to score 163 points in a doubleheader sweep of Valley City Tuesday night. The Hi-Liner girls fell 66-54 and the boys suffered a 97-66 defeat. They will play once more before taking a week off for Christmas, Thursday night they head to West Fargo for a meeting with The Packers.

WF Sheyenne 66 vs. Valley City 54

Kierra Freih couldn’t miss in the first half, The Sheyenne senior knocked down 5 3’s and ended the first 18 minutes with 25 point to get her team a 41-23 advantage at the half.

A quick start out of the intermission pushed The Mustangs lead into the 20’s. Things started clicking for Valley City and with 3:56 left in the game they cut the game to 10 points at 61-51 but they would get no closer.

Freih ended the night with 31 points for Sheyenne more than double their next led scorer Joely Goodiron who scored 15. Taryn Dieterle paced Valley City with 13. Courtney Lloyd and Mackenzie Pederson both scored 11.

The Mustangs rattled off 9 quick points and never trailed en route to their forth straight victory. Valley City had 17 points from Hunter Burchill. Riley Miller added 12 and Matt Lyther 10. Zach Westphal scored 23 points for Sheyenne.
