JAMESTOWN,N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown and Minot split a basketball doubleheader Tuesday night at Meyer Arena as the Blue Jay girls won their third straight game with a 63-50 win and the fifth ranked Minot boys held off the Blue Jays boys 73-66.

Megan Gaffaney scored 12 of her game high 19 points in the second half and added eight rebounds leading the Blue Jay girls. Alyssa Ukestad added 12 points and Courtney Peterson had 10 points and a team high nine rebounds.
Minot was ledby Allie Nelson with 15 points and 18 rebounds. Alli McCoy had 12 points, all in the second half and Becca Tschetter chipped in 10 points.
Jamestown head coach Andy Skunberg says it was a team effort.

there were 14 lead changes and five ties, but in the end, the fifth ranked Magicians slipped by Jamestown by seven. Lofton Klabunde led the way for the defending champs with 19 points, 12 coming in the second half. Alex Schimke had 13 points, Chandler Albertson had 12 and Devin Mikell chipped in 10 points and a game high 13 rebounds.
Marshall Walters led the Jays with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Dawson Douty had 12 points, 10 in the second half. Broden Skunberg had 13 points and seven rebounds and John Horgan added 10 points and five assists.
Both the boys and girls host Turtle Mountain on Saturday night at Meyer Arena.
