N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Devin Hoffman accounted for five points and Jamestown moved into a tie with Bismarck Century for first place in the West Region with a convincing 8-3 win over Mandan Tuesday night at the Starion Sports Complex for their fourth win in a row.

Hoffman scored the hit trick with three goals. He now has 16 on the season. He would add two assists in the third period. Connor Fuchs had three assists on the night. Jace Thompson netted two goals while Corey Nelson, Leo Halko and Parker Stockert all had one goal.

The Jays would score in bunches. Three times they would score two goals less than a minute apart. In second period, Hoffman and Thompson scored 49 seconds apart. In the third period, Hoffman scored twice 32 seconds apart then Thompson and Halko scored 25 seconds apart.

Matthew Schneider made 26 saves as the Jays improve to 8-4 overall and 5-3 in the west region.

Blue Jay head coach Matt Stockert did not like the way the game started, but says he team responded as the game went on.

 

The Jays travel to Minot to face the Magicians on Friday before coming home to face Dickinson next Tuesday.
