N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Cardinals had five players in double figures, Senior Kolton Vetter led the way with 17 as Carrington beat Central Cass by 29 points on Friday night in a non-region match-up. Carrington improves to 8-2 overall, CC drops to 0-7.
The Cardinals were up by as many as 16 points in the second quarter, but the Squirrels would close the gap to just seven points at halftime down 41-34. The Cardinals had a big third quarter outscoring CC 25-8 to take a 66-42 lead at the end of three quarters of play. Senior Garrett Bickett had 16 for Carrington, including two 3-pointers, Sophomore Seth Nelson had 14 and Trey Rosenau and Payton Smith each had 10. For Central Cass, they were led by Junior Jonah Lietz with 18 points, including four 3-pointers.
Next up for the Cardinals will be on Tuesday night, January 16th in Carrington against Kidder County for a Region III contest. Pregame will start about 7pm on AM 1600 KDAK and newsdakota.com, tip-off about 7:30pm.
